Esperanza operates Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA’s) for adult men and women.  In order to move into a CILA, an individual must be an adult with a developmental disability and be approved for services by the case management agency in the area where the adult lives.  It is the case management agency that works with the State of Illinois to arrange funding for CILA placements.

Esperanza frequently receives referrals for CILA placement from case management agencies and accepts new residents based on availability of space.  A person wishing to live in an Esperanza CILA may request that the case management agency send referral information to Esperanza.

Esperanza’s CILA program manager will then examine the information to see whether or not the placement is likely to benefit the individual and the other residents.  The program director will then arrange for a series of visits so that the individual can make an informed choice about whether or not he/she wishes to live in one of Esperanza’s CILA’s.  If the individual, the individual’s guardian (if there is one), the case management agency, and Esperanza are all in agreement, placement can then take place as soon as the State has approved funding.

Individuals who believe they would be interested in living at a CILA should call Esperanza and ask for the CILA manager, who can explain the process and give the individual information about the nearest case management agency.

We have openings! For additional information, please contact Lavonda Hall , Qualified Support Professional at (312)432-3944 x 16.
