Early Intervention Program
Program Description
The Early Intervention Program provides comprehensive services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families. Families and professionals work together in applying intensive therapies designed to prevent or alleviate the severity of developmental delay and help the child reach his or her highest potential. Center-based services take place in Esperanza’s Early Intervention Center, so that parents can support one another and children can increase their socialization skills through group activities. Transportation to and from our center is provided.
Home based services are available to families whose infant is medically fragile or very young. Families may choose home- or center-based services. All services are provided in both Spanish and English.
Target Areas
The boundaries of Esperanza's Early Intervention Program are city-wide. The program also serves the western suburban collar communities. Esperanza receives referrals from five Child and Family Connections (CFC's) in the Chicagoland area and the near southern and western suburbs.
Clients Served
Children from birth to 3 years who are eligible for E.I. services must be evaluated by an accredited evaluator and diagnosed with a developmental delay of at least 30 percent.
